It's been so long since the last web site update, and so much has happened. Allie has changed so much during the past 4 months...
- Most notable, Allie has been potty-trained. The process too about a day to a day and a half. No training pants or pull-ups were used. She took to the process of using the potty when needed quite quickly, and there have been very few accidents. We're so proud of her!
- Allie has learned that she will be getting a new baby sister in March.

- Allie has been to the beach twice this summer: once to Grandmom and Pop's new house in North Carolina (with Jodie and Aunt Karen), and once to Ocean City with Mommy and Daddy.
- First experience in larceny: while in the checkout line at the grocery story, Allie stole a candy bar off the shelf while Jodie wasn't looking and ate half of it before anyone noticed!
- After having a chocolate desert at a restaurant, Allie was acting a bit hyper, especially while Jodie was trying to secure her in the car seat. Jodie made the comment "we have a hyper child on our hands!". A few minutes later, Allie was staring at her hands saying "Mommy, I can't see it!"
- Once, while MomMom was trying to get Allie unbuckled from the car seat (which is often difficult for her), it came unbuckled rather quickly. MomMom made the comment, "Well, that was a piece of cake!" That turned out to be a bad thing to say on the way to a restaurant, since for the rest of the night Allie was expecting a piece of cake.
- The first time we asked Allie what she wanted to be for Halloween she responded "a ferris wheel". We have no idea why she thought of that, other than the fact that she enjoyed riding the ferris wheel in Ocean City earlier in the summer.
- Allie is developing good problem-solving skills, such as going into the bathroom to get her stool and lugging it into the kitchen so she can stand on it to reach something on the counter.
- Allie spontaneously told us she wanted to name the new baby "Hoss". We have no idea where she got this name from. She's never seen the TV show Bonanza. :)
- One night at bedtime, she said something that caused us to laugh out loud. First, to back up a notch, we were surprised about three weeks ago when she recognized a Taco bell, even though her only experience with it was a quick trip to the potty (off I-95 in White Marsh) once. We never eat there, so she never hears us even talking about it. She's got quite the memory. So at bedtime tonight we were reading a book that had a Winnie the Pooh story that showed a doorway with a bell hanging next to it. She asked questions about the bell ("what's inside?", etc.) and then she asked "Where did it come from? Is it from Taco Bell?"
- Allie has begun the stage where she likes to whine a lot, and throw herself onto the ground in sort of a tantrum if she doesn't get what she wants.
- Allie has begun gymnastics class, learning things such a forward rolls and walking on the balance beam.
- Allie knows the alphabet, numbers up to 12, shapes, colors, and likes to use words like "actually" and "probably".
